Free Kindle Books with EReaderIQ

One of the coolest things about Ebooks is that you can read some fantastic Indie authors, but there are a lot that self publish through Amazon. One great way to get a free introduction to some of these books is to subscribe to EReaderIQ

They will send you a daily email with a selection of the free offerings on Amazon. You can tell them what genres interest you and they will tailor the offerings to you.

It's not only Indie Authors either - every now and again there'll be more mainstream offerings so its really worth keeping an eye out!

As well as the free kindle books email EReaderIQ also watches books that you tell it you are interested in and when the price drops they'll pop you a mail to let you know.

 Definitely worth a visit!

3 Little Kindle Tips for Beginners

I thought I might kick off with some basic tips for the Kindle - particularly those really simple things I wish I had known when I first got my Kindle.

1. You don't need to turn your Kindle off completely

You can either let it go to sleep on its own or slide and release the little slider at the bottom. This will print a picture to the E-Ink display. One of the lovely things about the Kindle is that it only uses power to print the page no matter how long it is displayed for.

2. Only switch on your WiFi if you need it

Your battery will last for ages if you don't have your WiFi switched on.

3. Move the cursor to the beginning of a word to get its dictionary definition

This is a lovely little feature which means you can understand what you are reading without having to search out a dictionary and look it up yourself.

The dreaded first post!

Well, this is the dreaded first post - the one where I sit, staring at a blank screen, knowing that this is a blog without content. Content that I, hopefully will provide over time. However, the whole thing scares the heck out of me!

I created this blog to share the geeky bits of my life with you - the 'Interwebs' as I like to call you. I am the Gwytch and I love technology, gadgets, gaming and suchlike.

If you have stumbled by I hope you find something that interests you - actually, scratch that, at this point I just hope you find something... Something other than the blank screen I have been staring at!
